The Bird can have the top bunk......Tethered off coarse ;D
Great Mews
Oh Yes, PVC mesh as mentioned is ideal, used it for 10 years no problems. If the bird is a youngster then run some Tight netting behind the PVC for a while as a precaution.
Bamboo....Not a good idea as security wise dead easy to get into, and yes i have seen it happen. And also it can come loose if you are in a windy climate or wet like over here.PVC can be cut i know but it takes a lot longer and the thief gets Both Barrels up their arse!

Thanks grappler, I went ahead with conduit. I was in my back yard yesterday and it got me thinking. We have had a mess of rain lately, and the mosquitoes are pretty bad right now. Does any one use netting on the windows or any other precautions. Or is it something I should not worry about.

Cover whatever you can to try and keep them skeeters out!! I just bought a 100' (3'wide) roll of fiberglass screen and aim to put it up in my weathering area over the weekend. We haven't seen any of 'em yet, but I know they're just around the corner. -Joe
How would so meting like nylon netting on the outside of the mews openings work to keep out the mesquites? They are starting to use them in stables and other facilities similar. In the arena I used to ride in they kept a lot of things out but the wind and sometimes rain went through but they were a really tight woven mesh, similar to a trampoline. Not as dense as a trampoline I could see out it from the other side of 60 meters but thats about what they reminded me of. Here is an image of it: Just and idea it could be a really bad one,
Never settle.

Okay here are some newer pics. I need to get this finished and inspected so I will be concentrating on the mews side only for a while. Every thing on the inside will be painted white.
