Well I lucked out today. The electrician that is working on a new building where I work gave me a whole truck load of 3/4" conduit. It sat in his yard to long and got rusty on the inside but the outside is fine. It is still bundled and in 10' lengths and straight.
Kenbro,
That's fantastic. I spent over $100 on conduit. You should think about buying a case of beer for that electrician.

I spaced mine at 1 and 1/2 inch also. I used the 1/2 inch ID bar. Really doesn't make a difference. Its looking good. When do you think it will be finished?
Not sure when done. I used money I saved, now it's pay check to pay check . All I got left is frame the 3 walls in the shop part and the siding. Then the sheet metal around the bottom edges, and the perches. I hope to be thru by the end of May.

It looks like you're going to have a fantastic set up for your bird. Congratulations on taking the time and effort to put together something really nice. I'd be willing to bet that you're going to make a fine falconer as you're taking your time and doing things right.
You're in a great state for falconry (as I'm sure you already know) and you'll have an excellent pool of knowledge from which to draw if needed. I've been very impressed with the level of falconry among the practitioners in Texas.
Plus you guys sure know how to have a good time when the hawking is done at the end of the day. :-) I really enjoyed my visit to Amarillo for the NAFA meet a few years back.
Regards,
Jon D.

Thanks Jon. Yea we have a great group of people that are in the THA. I am kind of stuck out in the middle of no where, but they help me as much as they can. I plan on being in this for the long haul so I want my bird to have the best I can provide.

I wish i had the capability of building such a nice mews.... someday! Buf for right now, that wouldn't work, unless i wanted to step out the sliding glass door to my backyard and run head long into the mews ;D
