any falconers around the daytona beach area? I would like to hear from you as the only falconers I know are in Ireland...send me an email or gimme a call, my number is 484 478 4964
Your best bet is to try to go through the state clubs to see if if you can meet up with someone.
I know of a few falconers in the Melbourne area south of you a little ways.
“Attitude is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than what people do or say. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill.”
I’m looking for the info to study for the Florida laws and Regulations and such so that I can study and become familiar with the various species occurring in Florida, as well as basic biology, care and training of raptors for falconry. So that I can take the test and get my apprentice permit.
I tried to search and did not have much luck. Thanks foe all the help

im new to basically everything. where should i start? im just kind of thinking about it right now but i want to know the steps so i can jump start if i decide for certain.
There are many potential sponsors in central Florida, just get with the FHF. On Osprey, there was a camp counselor at the Fla. F &G camp near Ocala ,way back when that hacked a young one out on the camp docks. It would come and go as a wild osprey but was tame so you could pick him (her?) up after he had eaten a fish and take him bback to the camp whenever.

Hey everyone, I've always been interested in falconry but am just now able to start getting my finances/time together in order to actually pursue it. And I was wondering if someone could tell me if there are any falconers in the Pasco county Florida area ideally Tampa, Zephyrhills, Dade City or Lakeland Thank you so much for your help!!!
Hey idk if anyones gonna reply to this post the last reply was a few months back, but im located in Largo and was interested in becoming a falconer myself. I've been reading up on stuff online and was wondering if i could go falconinh with someone possibly just to see if its really truly something i want to do.
anyone looking to apprentice someone in the orlando area?
Your more than likely not going to get a response of any kind to "I need a sponsor" over the Internet.
More than likely you will want to contact these guys www.floridafalconry.com/ and try to make it to some meets, banquets or some other type of event so you can meet some people one on one. The apprentice sponsor relationship is a close one (in most cases) so a potential sponsor is going to want to know you pretty well before committing two years of their lives to you and your endeavor.
Good luck
Some people grin and bear it, other people smile and change it.

This post is pretty old, but if your looking for a falconry club in florida. Go to www.f-h-f.org , The florida hawking fraternity. I'm currently a active member.
I have been in love with raptors since I was little and saw a falcon being worked on a lure to frighten away seagulls from our plane on vacation, it just felt like I was ment to work with them.
Anyways, I live in Yulee (attend school in Fernandina though) and finally decided to work toward a license because I'm gonna move to my mom's place off hw17 and there is a two acre lot to fly from there.
I have looked on every page of myfwc.com and cant find anything! I checked your links...but they were dead ends. The only thng I've found is a form for releasing/rebanding a wild caught bird.
I could really use some help. I have access to build and maintain mews, and everything according to Florida specs, but no leads to get a license.
Hi, My name is Malton I live in Jacksonville, FL and I am very interested in Falconry. I would like to apply for my license and take the test. I am very passionate about the sport, I have never gone falconine but I have always wanted to. I am not looking for a sponsor but just for someone who could show me a little about what it takes to be a falconer. I know this is not an easy thing to get into, but I am a very hard worker, and would be grateful if someone could teach me.
Hi my name is Dakota and i live in jacksnville florida and was wanting to learn more about falconry. I am not really sure were to start. id appreciate any information on clubs or groups. Id also like it if anyone could tell me someone i could meet or talk to about this great sport. Thank you.
