first off, let me explain the area im building. 14x20 ft
and 10x20 ft of it is a slope from about 3-4 ft from the top, to the bottom.
heres the plans:
frontish view... double door, the big square area on the ground will be the 10x10x8 chain link weathering area/dog kennel
the dog will NOT be in the weathering when the bird is! its so when im at school, the dog can run around outside and get exercise and not be inside, the bird will be in mews when im at home supports over the slope:
the 4x3 window on side:
the second door to weathering:
any questions on details/demensions/clarifications/etc??
Notes: yes there will be doors. Chainlink is a pain in the arse to make in the program i used, use your imagination.

very cool i dig it. maybe the dog too. if the dog is out while you are at work it might be a consiteration like i did to chain link the ground as well so that he can not dog out making it easy for predetors to coome in. put gravel 4 inches above that. thats my only sugestion, you got a great idea
do you have to enter the weathering area before you enter the mews? that would be good to. it gives you 3 times the security.
i can add the door, and due to the fact its on a slant, we will have a deck of some sort... i like the chain link on the ground idea! seeing as we can get free chainlink... that would work well!

One of my uncles baught some property that was surrounded in chain link, they tore it all down to replace it with a different type of fence. all the chain links in good condition. hes been offering it to me and my other uncle to make Dog Kennels since i got my dog and he got his pup.
i have chain link in my mews floors too. stapled to the base and 6 inches of gravel on top of that. i live about 200 yards from the arkansas river and we got coons and skunk. anything to protect my bird.
my dad wants to make it heavy duty aviary netting, and stretch mew -> other fence.
that makes a weathering i can free loft in, approx. 15'x25' at a slope! so i can add perches at different heights, and partly up a hill to make them really work for it!

My only complaint is that you have to buy it in such big bulk, or is there something smaller than 50*100, I am needing something more like 10*50.

I have Avian netting for my weathering area. It lasts a long time but it has to be repaired once in awhile. My squirrels seem to think the grass within the area is greener then everywhere else and they can chew right through it.
I would NOT free loft a raptor within an avian netting enclosure. If they get tangled inside of it and hang upside down they can get injured or die.
