I have a new Gyrmado hybrid. Just this morning his leg started turning reddish purple from the feathers down to the webbing between the toes. There is no swelling, laceration, or signs of any external injury at all. He is standing on it and it doesn't seem to bother him. He was bating quite a lot last night though. Lastly, it is not leather dye running off, since he has been wearing the anklets for a month and bathed in them many times before.
Has anyone ever seen something like this? Internal bleeding or burst blood vessel? I'm concerned about possible internal infection. Very strange that there is no obvious point of injury though...

I will say that I have never seen this in a raptor.
But pinkish legs can be seen with chickens/ fowl coming out of the molt. If so it could be due to a change in Testosterone in a mature bird? If this is the case, is am sure someone who has seen this before in raptors could chime in.
Without knowing the specs of his breeding it would be difficult to say for sure if it's not a genetic flaw. Hybrids tend to run rampant with various weird ailments. I personally would change out that gear, just to make sure it's not something leaching off the anklet for one, and two, if it's not dye or iron staining, the anklet is the likely culprit for the bruising.
My vote is on dye transference though. If the leather is anything other than veg tanned, it could be chromium leaching from it into his skin. Which is and can be toxic. He shouldn't have a bruise that size without an impact zone, bite or swelling though. Take a wet piece of that leather and rub the interior material ( fuzzy side) against a white towel. Abraid the surface with enough friction to feel it resisting the slip. I bet the towel turns burnt orange just like his tarsus.
I got some second hand leather for anklets last year from a friend. After a month of permanent wear one leg was turning black in a pattern that looked similar to this, and it was dye from the leather. Just on one leg as well.
I switched to better leather and the problem went away.
Last suggestion is this :
If you spent good money purchasing a hybrid Falcon, spent equal measures of time imprinting him, Maybe relying on a website devoted to apprentice falconers, for medical advice, isn't your best option. GO TO YOUR VET ASAP.
