My dog of ten years lost his battle to cancer last night... He was in a lot of pain and we took him into the vet and put him down. I couldn't have asked for a better dog. He was well-behaved, intelligent, and most importantly, a member of my family. He may not have been a hunting dog, but that didn't stop him from chasing and pointing at every bird or bunny he saw. Here's to you Taz... I hope for wide open fields for you to run in and all the creeks and lakes you could ever hope to plunge into on the other side.

So Sorry Bud , that's always a tough one to lose a friend like that. 2.5 years ago I lost my 15 yr old chocolate lab , Echota. I feel your pain. You did the right thing by him. Sincerely,
It is good to have an end to Journey towards, but it is the journey that matters in the End. - Ernest Hemingway
Sorry to hear that buddy, I just in the past three years had two dogs of age go down. I'm a grown man but it still brings tears. Hang in there better days will come.
So sorry for your loss. :/ I've been there myself. I still mourn the loss of my dog from 12 years ago. The pain eases in time, and the memories always stay with us. Remember the good times, and smile. Know your friend is in a better place, with no more pain or suffering. Rest in Peace dear Taz.
Ambition and love are the wings to great deeds.

I'm not exactly sure why this came up a year later... but thank you for all your kind words. He is still missed every day. Trips back home just aren't the same without him running up to you the second you walk through the door. I actually had a dream he was still alive last night and was feeling a little down. Seeing your comments helped perk me up a little bit.
