does the window of the mew have to face the outside or could you face it in towards the inside of a garage or something, to clarify if you built your mew inside of an already existing garage does the window need to be made part of a window already facing out or could it face the inside of the garage
Now I am not a falconer yet, I have only read books, but I have read that the purpose of a window is to give the bird a view so it does not get bored, as well as ventilation. Now if I am thinking about this correctly if it was facing indoors that would then take away both of those advantages.
Advantages yes, but legally you can build it in the garage or exsisting building. A garage does get airflow though, just not as much as outside. Just remember not to warm up the car in the garage period dorr open or not.
it would be mostly for the weekends and holidays the rest of the time it would be with me in an apartment or out hunting, oh and we do not keep a car in the garage anyway. i am just looking for a way to pitch this to my father my future roommate is onboard with a bird in the apartment i need something to pass inspection though. just looking for ideas. if anyone has any i would be happy to listen
Dude, i passed off my room with a bow perch in the middle on the floor for my first mew for a kestrel. A colapsable building in the garage built to cover the regs would pass you off. As long as you have a good spot to keep the bird inside no worries. The colapsable part might sit well with your dad.
nice from what i have heard the guys here in kentucky are not very nice about things, i just hope i can talk my dad into it, he is strongly against it right now and i can not really understand why, but i don't know we will see how it goes
well imagine someone saying they wanted to keep a wild animal to hunt with. I can see how far fetched it could be. He's probably putting it on the same level as, "I want to get a tiger to ride into work. I'll never get another parking ticket." Sometimes people just don't understand.
