I was just curious how much of a pain it was for you all to get a building permit for your mews. I am looking at the required information I will eventually need to submit to obtain a permit, and it's a ridiculously long list of paperwork. Did anyone have a hard time getting all this information together, or was it a relatively easy process for you?
Building permit process can be a pain. Wait till you have to explain what a mew is? I lucked out of getting a permit because I build a "garden shed" valued at less than $200. I'm also in a very rural area and the township supervisor is my neighbor. Sometimes it's a matter of who you know.
Mine was simple, Just went there with a drawing I made on the computer and my check book and that was it. I just had to check the laws and restrictions before hand to make sure I would be compliant. Such as how far from the fence line and how big and what materials. The city inspector loved me telling him about what a mews was.
