That is sweet!!!! good job on it!
The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, nor the kindly smile, nor the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when you discover that someone else believes in you and is willing to trust you with a friendship. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Morgan, Great looking mews, you did a fine job on it.
Im going to go out on a limb hear and risk the flame, cause it needs to be done. That bow perch, no matter how nice it looks is not as safe as it could be. I've actually seen similar designs on this forum before and blew it off, but I hate to see you risk this when you obviously care about your birds and equipment.
The primary draw back of that design is the size and placement of the ring. A larger ring that is placed around the main part of the bow is infinitly safer.
The bird can bate (opposite the leash) and ends up running the leash through its tail over and over as it bates, because the leash is hung over the center of the perch. This can destroy a tail very fast.
Not to mention that if the bird ever walked under the perch and wrapped the leash around the main part of the bow, it would be tangled rather quickly.
Regardless of wether this will or will not happen or how often, it is your duty, as Im sure you know, to take every precaution to ensure the birds safety, Id have that fixed. Murphy is out to get ya....
Im not criticizing you,,, just passing along what experience has shown me.

Sorry Morgan, I didnt catch that. Thanks
Ocbpcvolunteer, I think you'll be glad you changed it. Good work. and it really is a nice looking setup you have there, far better than my first mews, maybe my present one! Im hoping to start a new one soon myself.
Hope you don't mind me asking you a few questions about your mews. I was just curious, what materials did you use to construct it? How thick are the walls? Also, if you don't mind saying, about how much did it cost to construct? I like the design, and it looks very nice as well! Good job.
