I completed my mews this weekend. It is a Royal Outdoor Winchester 8X10 PVC vinyl modified shed. With the price of wood right now this shed kit was much cheaper than trying to build a wooden mew of the same size or buying a wood shed kit. I think the smooth vinyl walls will make it a snap to wash and clean out. I added the window and perches. My hawk will be free lofted in the mews after it is manned. Both doors are open in the pictures to show the inside. However, the one side locks closed and I am placing dog kennel panels in front of the mews as a double door and weathering area.
The are pretty easy to clean, even better with a pressure sprayer. I would not use a scrubby on the walls it will scratch surface of vinyl. So how did the windows turn out for ya,Got any pictures? I like to see if you did them the same way.
I used to think i knew some things. But i'm not so sure anymore.
If you click on the link above, I have a few pictures of the window. All I did was cut a hole in the side of the wall and put a ripped treated 2x4 in the hollow voids of the panels. I then used wood screws to screw through the side and into the wood on the inside and out.
I drilled holes through the top board and about half way in the bottom board for the conduit pipes. It was pretty easy. I plan on trimming out around the outside of the window with 1x4's. Do you have some pictures of your mews?
What are your plans for the floor or will you be leaving it cement?

Bad idea. Prevention is paramount. Hitting concrete will dull the talons. It could also bruise the bottom of the feet. Put down something, pea gravel pine bark almost anything besides bare concrete. Yarak

I noticed that the sprinklers or something had gotten water into the mews and that could defenately be a problem.

The window is open. There is no way to close it. My mews has two roof vents and two side vents for air circulation for in the summer, not to mention the window.
