So, like what the thread subject said, I am starting on my mews! Right now, we have the area spray-painted, staked, and stringed!
Tomarrow night, my uncle is bringing the backhow and the ditchwitch, to help dig the footings out and level out the area where it falls 5 inches. So, here are the final plans:
There will be a 4 foot wide by 8 foot long workroom, with the door on the north side. once in the work room, there will be a door on the right side to enter the mews. The flooring will be concrete in this room.So the workroom will also double as a double-door area as well! The mews will be an 8 by 8 area, with a 4 foot long, 2 foot wide barred window on the south side, centered. The north side will also have a food chute. The flooring will be pea gravel.
The building will be from 7 feet tall gradually up to 8 feet tall.( 7 feet on south side, 8 feet on north side)
So, pretty much after tomarrow nite, we have to fill in the footings and the work room area with concrete, put the bottom plates down, then attach the studs, then put the top plates on, the put the rafters on, nail the tin roofing to the rafters, attach facial board, attach plywood or some other type of siding on outside and inside, and then make window, doors, and food chute! And all the little extra stuff in between.
We might add a weathering area, but since they are not required in missouri, and my sponsor doesnt even have one, we might not. but if we were to add one, we already have it figured out: buy a 10 by 10 dog kennel, pour footings, set kennel in footings, attach avain netting over top, and place bow perch in center, with a leash attached fromt eh bowperch to the bird!
So, how does it sound guys?
Ok, now my fingers hurt, better stop soon! Anyways, if I can, Ill try to get pictures up soon!
Thanks,
FG
