Alright I'm in need of some help getting stuff to make my mews very cheap if not next to free.
Some ideas I've gotten so far is.
Get a large shipping crate for like airplane parts or tractors and just slap a door on it, ect...
Another was to use pallets and strip the board and then fasion them so that they were two beams were conected vertical and spaces 1" between each other.
Somebody gave me one of them storage buildings that you can rent that looks like the trailer for a tractor and trailer. It is a 8x20, so i went in and built a divider making a 8x10 mew. The other section acts as a freezer room, place to weigh the bird and a safety chamber. I also cut windows in the mew part. The thing that cost me on the mews was the conduit, the power, and getting the building moved, I already had the rest of it.

How about cruising the new home constructuion sites and raiding thier scrap wood bins? I saved myself about 200.00 bucks doing that.

That's cool but I don't think my odds for that are very high atm.
One word, Craigslist. Trust me, you can get all the construction materials you need for your mews free on craigslist.com. Heck, I almost got a 10x12 shed there free, alls I would have had to do to make it a mews would have been to put in a barred window or two. But my dad refused to dismatle and move it, so now I'm just trying to get free construction materials (Which there are a lot of for free. Seems everyone around where I live has been remodeling.)

Happier of happy though I be, like them I cannot take possession of the sky, mount with a thoughtless impulse, and wheel there, one of a mighty multitude whose way and motion is a harmony and dance magnificent. - William Wordsworth

WOW, that's cool thanks for the link sadly I wasn't able to find anything in the Dallas TX area that'd help for mews.
Be very careful about getting scraps from home construction sites. I have some friends that are fighting theft charges. Just because wood is in a pile on a construction site does not mean you can take it.

Well I Don't wanna butt my head in. But according to the law, your friend has won the case. It is perfectly legal for you to go dumpster diving. Since they threw it away, they waved their rights to that property... Just thought I'd imput that. I'd love to find some networking cable. All we got here are small TV boxes
