Could you put a rug over your mews floor? It seems like 2 big rugs could be great for a floor. You could pull one out and clean it off, while it dried out the other could take it's place.
i wouldnt use a rug, like an indoor rug, but i know people who use the huge brown sheets of paper from Home Depot and then just replace it and it works fine for them.

Ethics make the individual, not the other way around.
I have a thin indoor rug, the type without the rubber backing, over 4" of pea gravel in my mew for the last two years. I keep it folded back from under the corner perch where my hawk does most of her muting. What does get on the carpet I hose out every week. The water goes right through it and drains into the layer of gravel. Occasionally I'll pull it out to give it a good cleaning and clean the gravel bed also. I started using after having a problem with dull talons on my 1st hawk. The problem went away shortly after so I keep using it. I've got some extra pieces so I can replace it if it gets to crappy. I believe the most important thing is to have good drainage under it and keep it clean.
I use carpet padding in my mews and weathering area. Extremely cheap, which means it's nothing to replace (every 4 months). Also very very easy to install. Easy to wash off, and lets liquids go straight through it (good for weathering area in the rain). I havent had a bird in them yet, but my sponsor has been using it for 2 1/2 yrs now and he loves it. If you dont want to spend $5 for an 8x8 area for new stuff, theres almost always used padding in the dumpsters of carpet stores at the end of the day (but like i said, extremely cheap). It also does not dull the talons.
