I am saying this as advice and not to condem or attack anyone. There are a lot of experienced people on this site. Many of you are young and believe it or not you have much to learn. Listen to what those that have gone before have to say. Do not make rash accusations or statements. You will go much farther faster if you sit back and listen to what the older falconers have to say and then learn from it. Not everyone has had the same experiences and I can assure you there is always another way to skin a cat and it just might be a better method than you learned. Best wishes in your endevors. ET

You are correct, Matt. Without getting exactly literal with the word, I think the point was only earlier made that "overcrowding" may and probably will cause the birds to peck each other to death. Come on, think outside of the box and realize the advice that was being offered....that's all.
So....if someone wants to raise Quail, they certainly want them to survive past chicks, n'est pas?
....ahhh, the joys of youth......

BTW...check this out, as it may help you understand that within our language one word may have many different interpretations.
I did ponder the fact that the word cannibalism was being used where it concerns the raising of quail, so I searched myself to understand...and this was what I found: (this is the same link you encouraged me to read)
You may need to scroll down to see the third definition: "3 : the pecking and tearing of the live flesh of its own members in a domestic poultry flock —compare PECKING ORDER "
I was going to PM this info but then thought maybe others were curious now, as well, so there you are, Matt. Always look at all the answers. When using a dictionary, the first definition is usually the most used, but there are sometimes other answers where the same word is used, but for a slightly different meaning.

Congrats on a good job. Looks nice and solid. I like the factor that you have a fence around the property, although a privacy fence is always better if even a possibility. Are you going to attach the weathering area to the front of the Mew? That would be a good way to get your double entrance in without much additional problem. -Joby
