Does anyone have a door in their mews to allow their raptor to fly from the mews to the attached weathering area. If so do you have any photos of this design. What are some of the pros and cons to this design.
actually my mews and weathering will be under the same roof without any obstruction. you can look at my thread for pics. I got this idea from other falconer and it works great for him.

I'm standing in the weathering area looking back into the mew. You can see one half of the double doors that I can open up to give the bird free access. I close it up for a new bird and severe weather. Otherwise it's open all the time. My hawk spends the day outside and perches by the window at night. Note: photo is rotated 90 deg.
How well does that siding work that you're using, the cris cross stuff? I looked at it and thought I probably shouldn't use it but if it works well I would have to consider it.
That's lattice. I installed that on the inside to keep the bird off the wire which is on the outside of the framing. They make a privacy lattice which has tighter spacing but costs more also. Either way I would not trust it alone, for keeping the bird in or whatever out.
