Hello!
I am new to falconry, I guess a pre-apprentice. I live in Wisconsin as well. I am in Polk County WI on the MN boarder hoping that there may be falconers near the area. I also was wondering if it is "allowed" to have a sponsor from MN if I live in WI? I am much closer to a couple of MN falconers that I have met compared to WI falconers I see on here and on the FB page. I wanted to get the exam, mews, and equipment done or at least going to prove my sincere interest, but I have read on here that some of you mentioned that it may be better to find a sponsor first because they may want things "their way", but I have also heard that a lot of sponsors don't even consider it until you prove you are in it for the long haul. I would assume I could at least try and get the exam done with, but does the exam laps if I don't find a sponsor within a certain period of time? Anyone know the right number for the DNR to get the packet and stuff sent out and speak to the person in charge of falconry? Thank you in advance! I look forward to interacting with everyone. - Adam
