She's doing well. She needs some coping and then it's after ground squirrel we'll go. Mind you she's dropping tail feathers so fast this year I may have just string up the bow for ground squirrels instead. At least till fall. Hoping for a gos for ducks and grouse this fall and an rt for rabbits and hare. Could be an interesting fall this year. Hard to say though to many if's and buts to cover before them.
Good luck with the missus on that Gos!! If she allows it, I'm gonna wanna few pics! Good luck with the coping too... don't cut too close! Good thing your RT is doing well, she's got it rough.
Actually she's got it pretty easy. Good food good water. free flight around the yard for an hour or so a day. (weather permitting me to stay out there that long.) and a large mew to be free lofted in where the crows can't but her. For a one eyed hawk that's a pretty sweet deal I think.
I've had her for two years now. And realy haven't done her the justice she deserves. I've had problems with getting her out in the propper weather and to give her good sllps. Hell just finding the time at times has been difficult. But all in all most of our problems have been mine. The brush here is thick and grouse make the most accessable game as far as getting in the open. but for the length of the flights for the grouse to get to the bush where Mary can't fallow is short and she seems to lack the starting speed to catch them. getting her a second flight at them tends to be the key thou easier said then done. This year I've found some good rabbit fields thou the are hours away and will take some planning to get to these hunts. But they should prove productive. Hoping for better results.
With right slip sure. If your bird is in a tree and the grouse is flushed towords her. If a second fush can be made which isn't often the grouse are much slower. Some time you can almost drop your rt from the fist onto the grouse I tried to do that once only the grouse was onher blind side and she didn't see it till after it flushed and was in the brush on the other side of the road. Something I'll work harder on this fall.
