A very informative site. Group purchases of three or more will bring the price down but I only recommend group purchase if you live in the same state.
www.balances.com/
The above site has the traditional triple beam OHAUS without attachment weights $101.50 and a copy called myweigh that comes with the attachment weights for $79.90 at saveonscales.com/triplebeam.html
The Pelouze Digital Postal Scale comes recommended by From: "andrea" <austringer@s...>

Subject: pelouze scale - paging Jeff H
Hi Jeff, on your recommend. I picked up a PE5 and it's great! I was
worried it would have problems with taring the perch (the issue with
my previous digital scale) but it's fine.
The only thing I don't like is that it automatically goes to ounces on
startup and I don't know if there's any way to make it default to
grams. (If you know I'd appreciate you telling me how to do it.)
I drilled a 1" hole in a 2.5" pvc pipe cap, glued it to the scale;
made a little perch out of 1" pvc and stuck it in. Works like a charm
and it's a lot less bulky and heavy than a triple beam to haul around.
Thanks! You've converted me!
