What would happen if you got a different color glove. I mean, most people have brown, tan or black. I was wondering what your bird would do if you got a blue or green glove. Sort of like a standing out color Would the bird reject it if it was the first glove it had ever stood on or what?
No, The bird will stand on any glove if it is the first one but you may encounter problems in the future when the color changes with a new glove. I changed from a black glove to a light tan and brown glove and things got a bit tense for a few days as she would'nt fly to the glove.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion................ and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."
Thanks. There is a blue glove and a tan glove and I suppose I'll take the tan for simplicity's sake. Of course, if I went out to a demo, my bird would have no trouble discerning me from the others. (If I got the blue glove ^_^
I'm afraid that the blue glove will only aid in other people discerning you from the others. The birds visual accuity can dicern much more detailed info than we can imagine ;D

If your not buying a glove from a falconry supplier you will also want to was the glovein warm water with a mild soap and then treat with a non toxic leather oil. and in the case of the above white glove I suggest long tongs and a hot fire.
Exellent advise about washing a welding glove before use as a falconry gauntlet. You'll be amazed at what dyes and chemicals come out. You wouldn't want to eat on a plate soaked with chemicals. The same for that beautiful bird in or soon to be in your care. Rub in a dab of leather conditioner. Make sure it doesn't contain toxic chemicals ! One thing you can do to make a welder better. Take a scrap of matching leather and a D ring from hardware store or saddlery shop and rivet the ring onto the glove. Probably a matter of choice where... I like the ring just under the thumb at the wrist. Not too high up on the glove. Anything the bird can get tangled up on it will. If you can't work with leather YET, have a saddle shop put it on.
Be advised! Falconers are leatherworkers! You don't have to make everything, but you will want to be able to cut out your own jesses and anklets.
I use a nice expensive glove (tan) for hunting...etc. and a RED welders glove for feeding on the fist. If you have a nice gauntlet then you understand how its better to muck up the other cheap glove instead... I think in general its good to try and vary aspects of the routine as much as posible at first or you'll end up with a redtail that will only tolerate 1 person in the field w/ no dogs...and you have to wear the same outfit in all weather conditions...!
