This is a link to Manny's site. squirrelhawking.homestead.com/chaps.html He is another squirrel hawker that is very successful at it. He uses a simmilar design to Gary Brewer. If you don't like the full squirrel chaps then the traditional chaps work exelent even if your hunting rabbits and such. The reason I use this style is so that the bell and bewit are attached to the side of the chap so it eliminates the need for another band of leather around the Tarsus. Plus, this design distributes the weight from a bate more evenly than a simple anklet. I noticed that on another thread someone was talking about birds removing bells....My bird hacks at the bewits all day long like it's a hobby and she has never managed to remove one yet.

They cover the top two thirds of the toe and give the squirrel an easy target to bite at as it has shiny buttons and leather flaps that stick out. If you could see all the bites on my birds squirrel chaps from one season than you would see the benifit.

Due to the approaching hunting season I have decided to renew this thread. For anyone out there who's bird might or will encounter squirrels chaps are very important. Each year mine are loaded up with bites. If you know that your bird does not fly on squirrels or that you do not have any do not worry about them. On the other hand if you know they are around even if you have not caught one or do not wish to you are taking an unnessesary risk. Few vets can reattach tendons. It only takes one well placed bite to ruin your season or worse your bird. You have no way of knowing if your passage bird has taken them before. If you are intentionally hunting squirrels you are foolish not to use them. IMO Yarak
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
Elf leather? Now this I gotta see!! Is there a trapping season for elves? How does one come by elf skin? Is it expensive?....Enquiring minds want to know.......

Shhhh!! We can't tell Ooby!! But, if you really need some good leather, try the dwarven skin. Hard to obtain but strong and pliable!! I use it for jesses and even my glove.
Well my mom normally gets it for me around Christmas time. I'd ask her what it cost her but thats just rude. No really you crazy ppl know what I ment. Patterns, any? Yeah FB I printed that one but I'd like some more options.
