I was just ckeckin gout the Leagues Against Cruel Sports website. I am pretty sure they are trying to outlaw all hunting in the Uk and i bet they will. anyway, I have never been fox hunting, or hunting deer with dogs or any of that stuff. Noel fill me in on this stuff. A lot of the hunting seems to be done with dogs against fox and mink, also deer.. i was wondering why anyone would want to set dogs on a mink but apparently they do this, haha. Ummm i dunno, i am confused. A lot of these practices are traditions and perhaps could be mocified somewhat and hunting still allowed.

Wow, I had a good read of this site and it seemed that the fox hunters didn't go out without a fight. They forced their way into parliment during session. Thousands where outside the building starting riots with police over the ruling.

As with alll of these PETA type groups they seem to use extreme instances and pass it off as normal practice...this is apparent if one does a search for The League against Cruel Sports or whatever they are called. Okay, these last few posts havent been great on my part, sorry. i think i inhaled some solvent i was using to clean aubfloor adhesive out of my arm hair with. :PYah know what i am going to join PETA

Yeah i like eating tasty animals too, i dont' think ill join though
Back on topic here- HOW THE HELL DID THEY BAN FOX HUNTING WITH DOGS!!!!! That is rediculas. Some people these days....such as PETA folk..... Need to just stay in their corner and play with themselves or something, NOT RUIN OUR LIVES! Do they realize that foxhounds have been bred for centuries to do one thing, hunt foxes? It will do major phycological harm to the dogs not being able to hunt. Im sure the people who outlawed fox hunting with dogs know that though right?
Ok enough said, rant over...

Hey thanks for those figures Jelly!!! But wow, with that amount of fox in such a small area as opposed to america don't you think their are plenty. Now my new question is, what is the amount of fox in the U.S. Anybody want to help me with this one. That way we can make a comparison.

[glow=purple,2,300]If my memory serves my right, no one has taken the time to do the statics over here. I think it was cause our terrians changes so much that if in one area you can count 2 foxes in a square mile and other you can get 10 in a square mile, thus making it hard to get accurate data. Now, since the groups were started 20 yrs. ago the population has grown, a bit. Either way, I would like to know too. [/glow]

I didn't read the sites you provided because it would only raise my blood pressure. It's a done deal and the sportsmen lost. I used to fox hunt. It was fantastic! Thirty ppl on their mounts, riding all day with at least that many hounds. The sport is steeped in tradition and it surprises me that England, of all nations, would be the first to eleminate it. Our club would lay the fox scent along the trail and the fox would be protected in pen at the end. I never saw a fox ripped to pieces by a pack of hounds. I've heard of that happening, but not with our club. At any rate, it's over. Hunters lost. I'm surprised and disappointed.
[glow=purple,2,300]I am with you there Bob. After college is over me I was hoping to go fox hunting there, looks like that is not going to happen. When we did mock hunts we didn't even have a real fox just a scented stuff toy. Like your club we spent the day in the saddle, following the scent. Now our hounds weren't the greatest (lead us the wrong direction for about 2 hours) Still it was fun.[/glow]
