I've designed a possible new mews for when I move... what do you guys think?
The dimensions are 35'x15', with a sloped roof that is 8'-10'... It is basically a prep room that is 5'x15' with two 15'x15' mews on either side.
I'm having issues with the program itself, and adding the doors from the prep room to the mews, so if you notice those are missing... But I happen to like the design. The mews will have electricity run to it as well.

you extend the roof out for a over hang so the weather doesn't get in between the walls and grow mold and yes I know yours isn't made out of log but mine is. one for the guys I know lost 3 birds to mold before he figured out that he had mold in his mew and he was always sick also. the mold he had in his mew was some nasty stuff he had to just tear it down and rebuild the whole thing. not to mention the hassles with the game and fish after loosing 3 birds
Ah... I see... well like I said... it's not an exact model of what it will look like, but it's pretty close... the scale is pretty dead on as well... only an inch off in certain areas. The program is limited and I can't do things (to my knowledge) like that, I'm pretty new with it.
If your planning to use the center as a scale room, I would make it wider than 4 or 5 ft.. Mine is 4 ft. and about half the width it should be. Very hard to move about with a bird on your fist and when ever she bates her wings hit the walls. No room for more than one person.
Very nice setup. I konw a falconer which mews is designed similar to your idea, with a large central passage though, and he likes it a lot.
About the weathering area: do you intend to free loft the birds in there? If not, you could save on wire by tethering them in the same weathering.
Personnally, I would not be at ease with a weathering behind the mews, how can you keep an eye on your hawks if they are out of sight? Would make me uncomfortable.

It won't necessarily be in back of the mews, it all depends on which way the mews is turned in relation to the house.

looks nice. As far as tethering in the same weathering area I never saw that as a good idea because if one bird gets loose for some reason that makes the other the main target. so separate yards is preferable for me
