My mews design. the squares are supposed to be about 1/2 foot square, but it's not really exact.
I plan on having a covered weathering yard to freeloft, but having a run (like a dog run) between two perches to tether the bird untill it's well manned and trained, and a tarp (or something similar) over one corner to provide shade. the flooring will probably be plain grass and dirt with some sand in spots
The blue is where I want the barred window to be. I want a plywood shutter below it so I can close it partway or all the way in cold weather. it will probably be facing west.
the mews has double doors with a storage/prep room in the back. I havent decided on flooring, but I was thinking setting it up on concrete blocks and putting safe wire and screening around the bottom, and just having a dirt floor. (i read somewhere about this helping nervous hawks to feel more high up and hidden.)
Would the regulation 8x8x8 ft mews be sufficeint for a large RT?
any ideas, suggestions and criticisim would be appreciated.
