Disregard that plan... you can use it if you want to... its pretty and cool... but because the ordinance, I'm unallowed to build it, i'm redesigning a new one.
This is a drawing of what it will look like from one side (*please allow for product variation )
And yes... I know that the bars aren't perfect, nor is the chain link. I'm debating on the rain gutters... We are terrible at building and we can't handle a slanted roof LOL, so it will be flat i'm trying to think of a way that water can run off and won't sit.
all windows will have a ply wood covering that can lock from the outside (kind of like a flap to cover to keep in warmth when it is cold). Also all windows will have mesh.
The food shoot will be for my birds moult, so I don't desturb her and cause malformed feathers... both the weathing and the mews will have padded stadium astroturf (because the area i'm building on is on the patio now)
I'd also like you guys to know, that I'm not moving fast in this. And I'm not planning on building it for awhile (its not in the budget, atleast until summer). I am just plotting out some features that will be nice to have, and some that are necessary (for instance, the patio cannot be ripped out, its supported by rebar and such)
Only thing i have to say is based on my opinion. I never leave leave birds alone during the moult. I feed mine really high quality food and belive it or not fly them on a creance everyday (to fist or lure) for their food. All that is required at the end of the moult is to continue this rooutine while slowly lowering the weight until desired. They get so into routine i had my passage female redtail flying to me, 100g over her trapped weight. This also helped keep her muscle mass higher than sitting idle. Mew looks good, now draw it up with all the 2 X 4's and everything. It will give you something to do while you wait!
I think i'm gonna make a 3D model with like popsickle scales and such. and both Lee William Harris, and Emma Ford say to leave the raptor alone during the molt only going in there when absolutely necessary. Like to clean up, they said not to worry because they won't forget and of course the bird will be freelofted in the mews to keep its own strengh up
