Hey, i was just going through the Illinois regs and i didnt see anything about hunting seasons or regulations for sparrows or starlings, just pheasants, quails, and some others.
does any1 know the laws with hunting these smaller birds? or what else you would be able to fly a kbird at around here.

English sparrows and european starlings are vermin all over the US. I also think feral pigeons are too but am not sure about every state. But sparrows and starlings are fair game.
Here in Texas we have Euro starlings, English sparrows, Ferel rock dove(pigeon) and also eurasian collared dove( very similar looking to mourning dove). All of these may be taken any time by any means and their nests/eggs desrtoyed.

they are legal to trap/kill all year round as long as its on your own property or someones property you got permision from as long as your way of killing them is legal in ur town, like i live in mt prospect il and there retarded and wont let you shoot bb guns or anything so i stick to trapping or make sure no ones sees me shoot them with the bb gun lol
Be careful in Illinois when trapping sparrows. The very similar Eurasian Tree Sparrow is in areas of the state and *is protected by state law.* Don't as me why, since it too is an invasive. Perhaps because it is not competitive like the House Sparrow. Some areas of Missouri also have the ETS, but there are no protections in place for it there.
