Hey guys Just a quick intro Ive been browsing your site and forum for the last few days and I must commend the webmaster on a job well done and the forum community for keeping the forum informative and firendly (I diddnt find any flamming)
Anyways I live in Sydney Australia the city I believed to be the best in the world until I realised tat falconry is totaly banned in Australia and keeping Falcons in Sydney is totally banned unless you are a Zoo or a sanctuary. Other states you can keeo them for rehabilitation purposes.
We have A few breeds of Falcons but mainly Peregrines. Im currantly finding out some more information and begining a movement to change the legislation.
Im 23 Arab background my Grandfather tells me about me about his falconry days in Lebannon and how my ancestors where very well known for their Falconry skills.
Anyway I hope to be active and participating in the forums so If I say something stupid be nice cause all of my knowledge is theory at the momment.
Welcome aboard, Falcon. Don't be afraid to ask questions. The people here will try to help you out whether the question is simple or complex. We don't bite too hard .
Last i saw, Australia had the highest Peregrine population in the world, the numbers i last saw doubled that on any other continent. Don't know if that's still true. I wonder what it would be like to fly one of those Wedge Tailed Eagles on those darned invasive bunnies....

If I ever get my way Ill certainly let you know we do have alot Prarie's and a native Kestral and every now and then a stray New Zealnd Falcon. I personally havent seen any eagles But I think they are mainly over the otherside of Australia.

If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
I read a few of your posts and I dont expect you to be nice I only wish I hadent seen what you look like in the phot with your bird I had you ainted out as a shrek look alike .

Is he back in Australia or is in the US permantly.
Ive made some progress.
Ive found out that if you want to keep a raptor it is possible (very very hard but possible) I got a reply from the iafa (I think thats what its called) and they want some more info so they can help me out. Unfortunatly I dont know anyone else in Australia who is passionate about falconry. We have some rehabilitators but Im not sure if they are for falconry or against it.
If anyone knew any Aussies that are intersested in helping me out with this let me know.
I beleive that this aussie is still in the country on vacation, but he does reside in "New South Wales"....I think that's what it's called. We had a rehabber visit from aussie about a month ago to go out with a bunch of falconers around the country but she allready went back....Not sure where she was from in Australia
