I have contacted them as well, waiting for a response. I guess its a good thing, the wait to hear things is probably a good deterrent for people not so dedicated to getting into this lifestyle.

Hi, My name is Trish. I am just north of Tampa and an apprentice. If you apply for membership to the Florida Falconer's Association (it is free) at this link : floridafalconry.com/ Eric Edwards will contact you withing a week or 2. He can help you find a sponsor. There are some folks in our area. You can also join the same group on Facebook for contacts and great info. In the meantime, study the regulations and read some of the books recommended on the Bibliography at the FWC website. If you can, acquire the California Apprentice study guide available for purchase online. The reading and this guide will help you prepare for the required test. I hope this helps. And good luck.

Sure thing! My pleasure. F-H-F (Florida Hawking Fraternity) is still functioning also. Their membership is $25 per yer and includes email updates for regulations and a really nice printed annual newsletter. They also hold a couple of meets per year. One in the fall and one in the winter. It is a great way to meet fellow falconers. Link is here: www.f-h-f.org/

Thanks, even thou is a year an a half, and yeah I just starting to ready more for regulations, waiting for next week to order the CHC study guide
There are a couple of Facebook groups for Florida also. Since everyone is getting back in the field, a great way to find a sponsor is to offer to help out in the field. You can meet people in your area via Facebook groups in addition to the Falconry Clubs. The next FHF Meet won't be until January. The 2 Florida groups I know of on Facebook are Florida Gamehawkers and Florida Falconers. Both are closed, so you have to submit a request. An Admin will message you about your request, so check your "other" box if you do decide to check out the groups. Good luck on your test.

Hi, thanks a lot for the reply, sorry for my late response, I will contact the groups, but I will have to use my wife's Facebook (I don't want to open an account there (I did a study and research on college about it and after that I don't want to open an account; I did have before but not anymore) and let them know that I'm interesting in falconry and yes to help in the field, and that way what I learn I can teach and pass to my daughter and sons too. Thanks for which luck to me on the test, even thou I'm going to take some time studying the guide but thanks and sorry for the long story.
Best regards Pedro

I am in Destin, FL. I am acquiring the study material for the test; however, I am having difficulty finding one source that provides all the literature and preparatory material. I am also having difficulty finding a list of eligible sponsors. I am willing to pay for time and trouble to become part of this sport. If anyone can help, please contact me at ToreyGeile@Gmail.com .

The Florida test is a combination of the newest California Hawking Club study guide, the New York Study Guide and the USFWS and Florida regulations.
There is more than one version, so you need to have a good knowledge from all of the sources. Even though you can pass the test from the sources. I highly recommend reading anything you can get your hands on in regards to falconry. It will help in understanding, not just rote memorization.

Hi Brian,
I recommend contacting the state clubs in assistance for finding a sponsor. Go ahead and get the test done and out of the way. Down here potential sponsors like to see initiative. FYI the Florida Hawking Fraternity has a winter meet coming up at the end of January. The meets are a great way to well... meet people. www.f-h-f.org and you can find the info.
Also contact the Alabama club, since your so close. There are likely Florida falconers in your area that hunt and go to meets with them.
