no those don't work, i was looking into jewelers scales... yes they are really accurate, but have a low weight max, like it weighs up to 2 pounds, if that....

I wouldnt get that one. For a RT, look for one that is accurate to .1oz. For a kbird that scale would work, although i would get a cheaper one that is still accurate to .1g. For my kbird, i bought a myweight i200. This one looks better though www.oldwillknottscales.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=40 b/c it goes to 300g and allows for a bigger range of birds than the 200 version.
this is what i'll be getting, weighs up to 15 pounds (7000 g), accurate to 1 gram (.1 oz).. not bad, eh? only costs 84.95 and come with perch and ac/dc adapter. it's also small, good for traveling.
I'll never understand why everyone insists on spending so much money for scales. I have a digital one that I bought for $35 and its accurate within 1g-5lbs. Zeros out.. light... portable.. can fit in my hawkbox.
I am with Wolf on this. I bought my scale for $34 and it is accurate to within .o1g and will weigh up to 15 lbs. If you want to look at scales go to ebay and type in Postal digital scales. The scale I bought is a "My Weigh" scale
I agree, I can think of better things to spend that much money. I baught mine used with a perch already on it for $25 including shipping. (thanks to rptrvlr)

I bought a digital scale from oldwillnot or whatever his name is on eBay for around $45. Ounces, pounds, grams. All push button. I rigged up a perch out of aluminum rod and one inch doweling covered with leather. Way fancier than needed, but works great. Kept stainless plate on scale. Just drilled two holes and bolted perch on to it. I can weigh portions under perch and wipe off stainless plate.
