I was reading the post about the guy who had all of the stuff stolen at the NAFA meet and it mentioned a glove (gauntlet)for the right hand. Is there any "taboo" stating the bird should always be on the left? I am a lefty and for sure i would benifit greatly with having my most able hand free. Just a thought thats all.
No there is no rule about which hand a bird should be on. Your bird is usually seated on your left hand because a lot of people can't tie nots or undue climps with there left hand. If your left handed the put the bird on your right hand. nothing wrong with that. Just make sure that when you order yoour glove that your supplier knows you need a right hand glove. Chris
I'm sort of a lefty.... ambidextrous. I write with my left hand but do a lot of stuff with my right. I don't know whether I'll do left handed or right handed... either will work lol.

which ever hand u do maore stuff with like ull have to be able to tie a falconers know with one hand so u use the oppisite of ur strong hang like if ur right handed u want a left handed glove n visa versa
I don't have a dominant hand. I could tie a knot just as well with my left as with my right. With anything like this I just decide randomly which hand I'll use. Just for sh*ts and giggles I used to freak my teachers out with that sort of thing lol.
Damn!........there was a joke in the whole dominant hand thing, I just know it! ........
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion................ and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."
I was born with a similiar defect... left handed. Like De Vinci. I have noticed most gauntlet makers will make a glove to fit left or right hand. I carry a bird on right hand. My Austrialian Sheperd WILL NOT heel on right side. He watched last year's redtail slice out 7 ft and powerful enough to knock down a small child. Smart dog. Carry as is comfortable for you. I can not reach my wallet in my left rear pants pocket if my left hand is busy. Lots of falconers carry on the right.
