Oh what the heck let's stir the pot just to be an a44.We could turn this into a which is best. Now I cann't remember if it was in Nick Fox's book or Bruce Haak or even Jack Mavrogato or even someone I was talking to about hoods, Doesn't matter But the orbital ridge on certain species of birds is in fact larger that other species thus causing the brow to be wider than others. This said on some birds the anglo will normally fit better then the dutch and visa-versa. Not to say that one style will not work over another or that one style can not be used on all birds but if your bird seems to be more content in one style or the other it might be more than the amount of light sneeking in. That is supraorbital ridge! Lets try to get it right! Is it that hard? I will let Ooby=less mean loose on you if you persist! Yarak

And there is nothing wrong with argueing, im just pretty sure weasel doesnt' like me. /shrug
It's not that I don't like you, I just don't like a majority of your posts. You post on this list in a way that portrays an attitude and when anyone tries to argue it.....You deny what you said and change it around. You also don't think about how your posts are going to be interpreted by other members on this list and you, yourself don't interpret others posts correctly. I feel that you will make a good falconer, but that High all mighty attitude is going to make for some lonely flights in the future. I came to this list to learn and to help others learn, it seems that you came here to tell others what to do.
Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines "Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day; give him a religion................ and he'll starve to death while praying for a fish."
Hwy Yarak you can let loose who ever you want I don't care as for using the wrong term soory quick referrance matterial used the same referrance. gee infact it's recommended reading for apprentices so go complain to Liam J.McGranaghan the referrance was from his book. Chris Foster.
I have that book. Didn't like it too much. Too many PERSONAL preferences of his, and not much discussion of other techniques. /shrug i did learn some from it though.
I lkied it but then I enjoyed the stories and most of the rest I had read in other books so I didn't notice much as to personal preferrances. What I want to get is one of Gerry Brewers' books. More info on RTs most of my books cover a more general scope.
If you are really interested in gary brewer, call or write the Publications Editor for the CHC. I think its Rick, although not sure if he is anymore. Its on the CHC webpage. Ask [whoever it is] for the CHC Journal that has all the trapping articles in it. There are like 3 articles re-published from Hawk Chalk that gary wrote. There are also a TON of other GREAT training articles in there. It will be well worth every penny. I have nearly worn mine out from reading and re-reading it.

Chris, You are right I can let loose anytime I want. It is for your benefit that I correct you. Falconers scrutinize one another I do not wish you to come across as improperly informed. In fact because of that post I will bet the next time you refer to that part again you will say supraorbital. You may not care if you use the wrong term but I do. It might be wise to learn to be a bit more discerning in your reference material. Just because it is in print does not mean it is worth a crap. Keep in mind your falconry has a reflection of my falconry and vise-versa. We as falconers should always challenge one another to improve our contributions to this sport. But hey this is only the opinion of one hard core falconer. If you want to sound dumb more power to you but it won't be because I let you! Yarak the grammarian

Fair enough jsut caught me on a bad day, normally I wouldn't have bothered responding. You can be as correct as you want and thanks for pointing it out . I probably won't remember it later but you tried. Once again you where caught in the wake of some other ass (this time from work). Wasn't in the mood for being challange or threatened with the unleashing of others. Once again it was a bad day. The chart I used was for refferance not anitomical notes, not an excuse just a fact.

Or you could call or email Gary himself, i have emailed him before [granted it was about 2 years ago] but he was very nice to "talk" to and answered all my questions about squirrel hawking.
