Everyone seems to have just as many pro arguements as they have con arguements for either of the two most popular hood designs, so this poll will see what falconers think about their hoods. You can vote based on looks, but unless the look of the hood somehow effect its use, it really doesnt seem to make a difference to the poll.
I'm Partial to the Dutch myself. I just like the fit and the way the braces are set to the hood as compared to an anglo. An anglo works fine, but I find that my bird takes a dutch better.

Im gonna go with weasel, i like the dutch hood. I tried to use one on my last bird, but i didnt urge the issue enough to make it really worth while, but the dutch hood i had [actually my sponsors] fit the bird very well.
I honestly feel that the style makes almost no difference as long as it is a good, safe, comfortable fit. If all that is met, it basically becomes a visual chioce of which looks "nicer"

Poll Question: Which hood (barring looks) is the best hood for falconry?
There is no one best hood. The best hood is the one that works. So don't rule any out just because it works for someone else, or doesn't work for someone else. You will find what YOU like or dislike from a hood once you try it. And not all dutch hoods are the same, nor anglo indian hoods the same.
That's the point Ooby. The thread was started to find out what people thought of different style hoods. Nobody here has said that one is really better than the other. It's personal preference.

Poll Question: Which hood (barring looks) is the best hood for falconry?
Really the only difference is looks. Both are capable of covering the birds eyes, so they both work equally well.
The reason i posted is cause some newbies gonna come on here lookin for hood info and see that yall like whatever hood it is ya post on here, and take it as law, that it is "the best hood for falconry."
Ooby, You pick and choose which post you want to stir up in a strange fashion. This new argument of yours can be related to any aspect of falconry ....So why bother talking about falconry in general? Gravel vs. carpet, Bow vs. block, astro vs. Sisal, freeloft vs. teathered, crop on the kill vs. on the lure, lure vs. no lure, hooding vs. no hooding......Any one of these can be substituted into the same phrase that you posted before. Is it just for the sake of being different that you do this?

To Ooby: I can see your point. The wording can be a little misleading. When I said 'best,' I meant which hood a falconer finds that works best for them, not the 'end all be all' best hood in falconry. I hope this takes care of any confusion.
Well thats cool man. I just wanted to clarify as there are a lot of people who lurk on this forum who rarely post, and may get the wrong idea. I would hate to see someone buy a hood just because of a thread on this forum that said it was the best.
And there is nothing wrong with argueing, im just pretty sure weasel doesnt' like me. /shrug
