Hey all... Brand new to the falconry lifestyle but I've been training hunting dogs a looooooong time. Since I have no experience with hawking yet, maybe I can help out here...
Thanks FB (see... I've even got the acronyms down... haha)...
I've trained mostly retrievers (labs, Chessy's, Golden's). I help a friend with pointers. Same schedule pretty much if you exchange the word retrieve with point...
I tried a little guard dog training(Schutzhund style), but really didn't get into it too much. My love is being out in the field with animals and working with them. Hence, why I'm here. The thought of working with a raptor is mind boggling to me. I can't wait to get some experience. I'm in central Oklahoma. if anyone around here wouldn't mind me hanging out with them, I would love to start getting involved in any way I can.
On the other hand, if anyone would like help in training a dog within commuting distance, I'd be happy to help....

pgwhite@brightok.net I have not tried this before so please bear with me. This guys name is Perry White he is one of my former apprentices. He lives in Stillwater and is attending vet school. My Ok geography is not that good but he is into dogs and has an eyas Kestrel. Great falconer and good friend. Maybe he can put you in touch with others up there. Yarak
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
I'm sure some people refer to it as that. Personaly, coming from the East coast, I would be one of them. hahaha!!! But it's better than alot of other places to live.
