I have a female red tail and I have noticed she has a clear discharge from her nostrils occasionally. I've recently boosted her feeding now that she's molting and has a great appetite. Only other odd thing I've noticed is frequent muting Mutes seem normal but small. I have seen some larger ones in the morning.
She does not appear fluffed up. Her vent is clean. We've had lots of rain the last couple weeks, I've checked underneath the astroturf floor I use and I see no mold. She does not have bad breath.
I've tried searching for frequent muting and nasal discharge but I haven't found much online.
After my guy eats sometimes clear liquid comes out of his nostrils, when in doubt bring him to a good avian vet. Don't trust veterinary advice from a forum.
Perspiration and salt discharge. It's normal unless it becomes like puss or infected sinus color. During the molt it's perfectly normal to feed more, just make sure it's not the hot part of the Day when they crop up. They can get sour crop more easily, on hot Humid days. My RT's all molt 300-400grams Over hunt weight.
