I'm just wondering if anyone has ever flown one, how they trained, and if they were able to hunt anything other than bugs and mice. It sounds to me like another excuse for Harry Potter fans to have a pet owl. Prove me wrong.
same thing, but for barred owls. i'm just curious what uses they have in falconry

Unrelated to the thread, but I saw a barred owl flying around fighting a crow. I also saw a dead red-tail hawk in the woods, and I think the owl may have been defending his territory.
a barred owl has a rather large large plate as in terms of slection not as big as the gho but big ... most of the problem that I have under stood is they are mean big and dangrious hard to hunt only a few people since early 1800 s have had vary good luck hunting them as far as I know
