i am currently living in china, flying a saker and a comme kestrel. as i am returning to toronto on Sept this year, i want to continue to practice falconry in canada. therefore a sponsor near Toronto will be a great helping hand. also couple questions need advise from you guys, i asked some of my friends and they said i need no license for a non-indigenous raptor, such as a common kestrel. all i need is a small game hunting permit. but i dont think it means i can simple drive to a breeding farm with my hunting permit and purchase a kestrel, right? i've done research on Ontario regulations, yet theres no information about non-indigenous birds. therefore i've got couple questions regarding my situation: 1. do i need a license other than small game hunter permit to obtain a non-indigenous bird? 2. is there any provincial regulations on kestrel facilities(like size of mew or weathering area)? like inspection standards? most likely i'll be living in a apartment(my own apartment and pet friendly), is it possible that i can keep and fly a kestrel in such environment?
