I am highly intrested in becoming a falconer here in NM and have read the PDF file for of the laws for falconry but i can not fully understand it, my main questions for laws are. 1. what do you need in reguards to becoming an apprentice? 2. do we need a soncer before we can take the exam? 3.what are the full regulations on enclosures for your raptor? 4.For the need of a hunting license i know a small game is needed, but for being uder 18 one needs to take classes for it, but they are all for fire arms or bow hunting, so i cant fully comprehend how one under 18 falconers with a fire arms or bow license. 5. uppon requesting the packet is it an obligation to take the test and apply, or is it a simple information packet that give one a study guide and other information? 6.I know this isnt fully a law or regulation question but im including it for conservation and better use of time...How if possible would a Student (highschool) be an apprentice?
If you feel there is anything elce you should include that would be lovely. I thank you in kind for your time and information.
1. You need to read more to become a falconer! These questions are on here, keep reading....try this: www.themodernapprentice.com/
2. In some states you do need the sponsor first....have you read your state's regs?
3. This is answered in the federal regulations...also there is info on this forum: apfalconry.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=facilities keep reading.... 4. You need a hunting license to hunt. Falconry is hunting. Take the firearms class, then you can pull permits such as small game...so you can hunt....see? Don't expect them to have a falconry hunting certification class. The information is useful regardless of whether you ever intend to own or use a gun.
5. There is no obligation to test. Hence the name "falconry inquiry packet" 6. the same as anyone else. Most folks have jobs, same time restraints as school. You could also extend your studying, preapprentice period until later...but I assume that after high school, you may go to college or get a job...so in the end, your time will be just as limited. Many folks on here are still in HS....you have to decide if it is what you want to do with ALL of your free time....
Keep reading the forum. Buy an apprentice book....then keep reading the forum. Especially the parts that say: READ BEFORE POSTING, LOL your answered questions are only a google away. (PS there is a reason why no one answered your post, I am just being fruity today )
^^ thank you very much sublime, and i bet there probably was a reason, but i have no control over people who find stuff to idiotic to reply to, and thank you for beig fruity xDD
