Hey guys I found my passage red tail weathering yesterday with her right foot hanging off the perch. Her leg was completely incapacitated and unable to move. She wasn't stressed, just hanging out on one foot. She has an appetite but is unable to use her right foot. I don't know if she has injured her foot or her leg. Has anyone experienced this before and what to do??

Well, got back from the vet earlier today and she has broken her Tibia. the only thing i can think of is that she went after a chipmunk inside her weathering area and got stuck? No clue?? Anyway she will be going in for surgery on tuesday....simple procedure, lets just hope she can recover for another hunting season.
Just an update on "Nala" my Red tail...she is recooping from the surgery and is slowly getting some movement back in her injured side. I have ben croping her up real good at night and making sure her fluids and anit biotics are steady. The Dr says she will be getting the cast off very soon, so i guess that will be the true test. I hope she will recover for next season but realistically dont think its going to happen and even if she does, not sure if I will take the chance flying her again risking a second injury.
Sharpset - I am so sorry to hear about Nala! I hope she makes a speedy recovery and is able to hit the next season with a force! Keep us posted as to how she is healing.
