Was wondering if anyone knew anything about an RT's tail quivering? I've had my hawk for a week and her tail has shaken like this ever since capture. I noticed that it wasn't shaking when I sat outside with her hooded in the sun today.
Her mutes have also been a little out of the ordinary. Her first mutes had yellow urates and were inky black. They have improved and I can see the white and black now, although, I had watched her mute and it was this diarea-like substance. It was pretty smelly and was brownish. I've only seen that once so far and am planning on administering Ivomec. I have to call Northwoods about the dosage though.

I need a a bit description. Does the tail "shake or wiggle"? If it is quivering like a vibration then that would concern me. That sounds neurological. How consistent is it? How frequently does it happen? Can you associate it with any other outside stimulus? It simply could be a manifestation of the bird being stim'd. Try and provide as much detail as you can so that I might have a better understanding. Yarak
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music he hears, however measured or far away
Alright well its a rapid motion that is consistent for the most part. This morning I sat with her in the darkened mews and didn't notice it. I've had her unhooded in the garage which had more light in it and it "quivered" then. It has gone down but I'd like to know what it is in case it happens again. It seemed to be the most obvious during the first few days.
