Finally finished my grow out pen for my quail. Mind you I built it in 105 degree heat!!!
The dimensions are 2foot by 8foot and 11 inches tall. I added and egg tray, and used cloroplast to cover the egg tray to keep the cats or other animals from sitting on the tray and raising hell. So far so good. Yesterday I added a 1 gallon watering jug which has been the best thing I have bought so far. I was so tired of playing with the quart sized water wasters. Currently there are 84 jumbo browns running around in there. Hopefully they will be finished in 2 to 3 weeks so the next batch can be moved out.

Unless I'm being a dumb (which is highly likely) and missed a joke, Echo, I think they were just confused because it says "licensed falconer" under ikcus's name.
Nice!!! After given some thought of the 5 quails I currently have (1 male, 4 females) Instead of using them for hunt practice that I originally planned, I'm considering keeping them for the year to produce more quails. They are pricey here to begin with! I was thinking of doing the same for chickens this year too. All I need to do is re-work the old pen into a more secured closed-in pen to keep animals away and cold weather out during winter. Living in Canada up north, we've had harsh winters that literally killed some of my livestock, even in a warm pen before it got torn down, which is what happened one season with some of my chickens, ducks and goose. So yep! I believe it's time to remake the pen into a better shelter for the quails.
