Well I'm currently flying a male harris that has caught 3 jacks and a bunny and the last one was in like 20 minutes. I drive an hour to this field and I'm starting to think about doubles to make it worth my gas a little more. That's about 30 bucks a rabbit if I only catch one. But what I'm trying to say is that he chases every rabbit I get up even the really far ones now, I think he could be ready now but I was wondering what you guys think. I am really only thinking about doing this if he catches one pretty early in the hunt.
If the transfer goes well and he doesn't get too much to eat and he doesn't seem to hate you for it, go for two!
I agree 100%. I'll add, if your bird hoods well. After the transfer, hood the bird, walk out of that exact area, wait for the rouse. Strike the hood and go after #2.

Cool guys I also talked to someone I know that flies a male jack slayer. And she trades him off for a whole doc each time and caught 3 last weekend. I think he will trade easy cause we have been doing the trade off but its usually for a leg off the rabbit. I think the chest cavity of a blackbird will work its only about 15 grams and pretty bloody. Thanks guys!

Yea that's a good thing to remember! This is my first bird that I will be trying doubles with and that's something I wouldn't have thought of but probably wouldn't have done just because I usually use blackbirds, starlings and quail for food anyways. My rabbits go to a big cinarious vulture that eats a cottontail or half a jack each day if he isn't working, I just use the food my boss buys or traps so I don't buy food anymore as long as I keep up the flow of rabbits
When my bird catches a rabbit in 5 minutes out of the truck... and trades off for a front leg, then comes to the glove screaming at me and being pissy... THATS when i go for doubles... (almost got a double the other day... but they all made cover )

I hope you don't keep flying if your bird ate a rabbit leg. That's asking for a punctured crop.
