In May, I bred my little lanky mini-doxie bitch, Chance and we've got puppies coming next week. Chance is a little 7 lbs. black and tan mini that I bred out of Cobie and Bayli. She's a really skinny and lanky little girl and she was bred in early May to Turk, a gorgeous male (a red double dapple with two striking blue eyes, kinda like you'd find in a husky). He was originally bred by Bill Boler and is a nephew to my Cobie. He is a field champion and is now owned by Teddy Moritz's apprentice. Teddy has said that Turk is one of the hardest hunting mini-doxies that she's seen. The cross should be a good one. I just got her xrayed today and she'll be having 5 puppies sometime early next week. Send me a PM if you're interested in a pup. -Joby
joby you replyed to my post about a new dog. and i am intrerested in a dachs. i have read a lot of teddy moritz articles. but i have never read about how they do outside. i know they hunt fine but i cannot keep a dog inside. i have a nice kennel and would be glad to make changes if nessessary. i just got back from deer hunting in ohio and would be glad to drive up to see your dogs, if you think i could work something out to keep one.thanks
HawkerJoe, Mini-doxie's do fine as kennel dogs and can EASILY handle your winters down in KY. You're more than welcome to come up and watch the dogs work, although I don't have any puppies available right now. The pups from my last litter are all out working under birds by now. I should have a litter sometime early next year, but don't have anything right now. Where are you located in KY? -Joby
joby thanks for the info. i would like a pup that was ready to wean about april. i have always liked spring pups so the weather is getting better so you can work with them more. and by fall they are big enough to start nosing around. can i check back with you later to see about a pup.
I doubt that I'll be able to make it this year. Work stuff is getting in the way. Won't know until the weekend before the meet though. You still planning on going? -Joby
I am a Connecticut falconer looking for a dog. One dog is from Turk and Jess (Joe Guestella). Do you know of any littlers that are available. Thank you
Hi Kathy, Actually, due to someone having to drop off my list I have a red female pup, as well as a B/T male, that will be available in about 4 weeks. The female is out of my little 7 1/4 lbs bitch Chance and a red field champion stud named Broudie, which was bred by Teddy. I actually bred Chance to Turk last year and all of the pups turned out great. So, if you're interested, send me a PM. -Joby
Well, due to some changes in plans, I've still got a little black and tan male mini-doxie available. He's out of my little 8 lbs. field champion stud Cobie, and best bitch, Bayli. If anyone is interested, please shoot me a PM. He's very strong and precocious. When I brought the 3 little bitch puppies home 2 weeks ago, he immediately tried to mount them all, and he was only 6 weeks old!! He of course got kicked off, but then he set his sights on a two year old bitch that I had picked up for a friend and he went over and tried to mount her too!! Funniest thing I've ever seen, a 6 week old puppy trying to mount a grown bitch while she was eating. She was totally unaware that he was there. Needless to say, he'll be a great stud dog as well as a hunter! -Joby
I have lost your email....my apologies for going thru this forum -- You might recall we purchased one of the bitches from your litter this year and you flew her down to Connecticut. Can you please contact me via email: kginct1@aol.com, or (678) 880-8744, We did not receive the papers for her (her name is Honey) I have also contacted Teddy to see if she has your information as well. Many thanks. - Kathy Gross
Hi Kathy, Good to hear from you! I do remember Honey. How is she doing? If I remember correctly, you bought her for as a gift. Although I tried to contact the person who got her a couple of times in order to send him the papers, he never contacted me back. I'll try and give you a call tomorrow. If you need to e-mail me in the future, it's always listed under my profile here. Just click on my name and my profile will pop up. Have a great new year. -Joby
