Matt for someone so young and inexperienced there is too much condescension and arrogance in your posts lately.
Not to say that you don't try and answer questions, but your tone is starting to get on my nerves and I'd appreciate it if you'd take it down a notch, also try to use spell check its built into the forum so there's no excuse.
I figured that was how you did it, but dustin said something about using an X or something, and how do I frame out window? I'm not a constuction worker, nor do I know any, I appreciate you answering the question, but as snafu said, I didn't deserve the arrogance.
Snafu, im sry that im making myself apear that way, morgan, if i offended u saying it the way i did, im sry also.
Snafu, plz pm me with my other posts that have been like this, you brought me aware of a problem i need to fix, and ill try to do it.
basicly morgan, you make a box, and then put beams inside it for strength. for windows, youd basicly make a box the size of the window, and put it in the area were its going, and cut beams the length they need to be to make that window in place, so say u have a 2x5 window, youd place the window where youd want, then youd mark on the boards were the window is, and cut that out of the boards (if that makes any sense).
id recomend bolts to put all 4 sides togather, as for roof, i have no idea what type ur making, so i cant help you there.
ok, then basicly, on one side of the mews, youd make it like a foot or so taller, and then just put the roof on, u might want to do some angle cuts, to make it fit flush, and some support beams, but thats about it, call homedepot if some on the site cant give u a better idea, they can help you out.
sorry, i did not see the arrogance. good job matt. morgan you might want to run down to home depot and look in their book section and look for a book on building storage sheds, they are basically the same thing just different floor and windows. You can go look at the pics of the framing of my mews, and you will see two different frame types because it is basically two buildings under 1 roof. Morgan if you want, I am through with the book I bought and if you pm me with your address I will gladly send it to you.

Morgan, I built my mews a month ago. I built mine the same way the pictures show in the link FB posted. The only difference is my mews roof doesnt make a point in the middle, it is 8x8 and one side of the roof is 10 ft. and it slopes down to 9 ft. to the other side. If you do it that way you'll have to be kinda handy with all the angle cuts ( I know i'm not). I got by and bulit the outside plywood up to the roof and put marlite on the inside and had to do the same angle cuts to build it up to the roof. Good luck, it's a big weight off your chest when you're done. I catch myself staring at it everytime I leave or come home....such a bad habit
Here's a link to a residential framing Manuel. Hopefully you can page through it and find answers to your questions. www.awc.org/pdf/WCD1-300.pdf#search='WOOD%20FRAMING%20DETAILS'
Take into consideration the things such as stud position for windows and the lay of the studs. I layed all the studs on thier sides to prevent the bird from being able to grab them. With this in consideation, it severely weakens the structral integrity of the wall itself and you will need to use something else to shore up the walls. Now another option is to built the mew like a contemprary shed and then cover the interior with more plywood to conceal the studs. The most important areas to watch for will be the ceiling studs ( they will hang from the studs if given the chance) and the studs above windows (birds will bate upwards to try get out and will grab those studs also)
