I believe that you meant well when you posted that but that is not falconry. Yes.... it is something all good falconers strive for. We should all strive to provide the best we can for our birds. Yes... the birds do tend be better hunters after we release them but, that doesn't even mean that their chances of survival are Superior to any 2nd year bird. Even the best hunting birds of you life can get electrocuted, hit by a car, etc. Any day that you hunt them or release them.
Falconry is the art of hunting wild game with a trained raptor that is it.. Thats Falconry. If your main goal is to hunt ... then by all means.... If you main goal is to preserve then working as a biologist or a rehabber would fit that goal better. This is not to discourage but to inform you on what falconry really is. Birds will die and if you stay in falconry long enough you will see that.
Your knowledge base will increase with time so take what you read on here with a grain of salt if it offends you. If you want it bad enough you will do it no matter what anyone says. You have to remember that there are many like you who falconers have spent time with that just lose interest. Just try to learn as much as you can and apply yourself. You don't have to know everything. Just try to make sure that when you give information that you are pretty certain that it is fact or experience. No need to impress that tends to back fire on people. That should help prevent a reply that could be taken as rude. Ask Questions and read prior post. Remember that most subjects have been covered some already on here. Use the search button on the top of the page.-Zach
