I am having trouble figuring out how long the Permit is good for. My state has prorated depending on the year you get yours but the federal one has me woundering. is it only good for a year or is it a 3 year permit?
The only time you renew your Federal permit is when you renew your state permit. If your state has a yearly renewal such as California, then you have to renew your Federal permit the same time you renew your state permit. If your state has a 3 year permit, such as Washington, then you have to renew your Federal permit every 3 years the same as your state permit. Each state permit fees are different, but, the Federal fees are the same for every one. Some one correct me if I'm wrong on this issue
Personally, with mine, ive been sent a state renewal every year, and a federal renewal only this past year... dont know why....... maybe i am remembering wrong?

Here is California, we recieve our State falconry application in the mail. We send the State application with $68 to the State Department of Fish and Game. We then send a copy of the check or money order along with $25 to USFWS. Once the State has processed our application, they send it to USFWS and then it is mailed to the falconer once the paper work has been matched up to confirm the fees were paid. We do this every year.
