Where in ND are you located? There are 4-5 of us in Williston that are falconers. Most of us are here due to the boom but we are practicing and at the moment working on getting an association set up. We have a few generals and masters that are willing to apprentice the right people. If you are truly serious about getting started come fly with us. We have a blast and have birds from red tail hawks to several different kinds of falcons. The first step of any journey is the hardest and its always easy to talk about it. Its the follow-through that counts.
I am a photographer located in Stanley ND and I would like to photograph this form of hunting please message me thank you!!
If you wouldn't mind a tagalong some time I would very much like to see first hand what's involved and if hawking is something I should pursue (or shouldn't despite my life long fascination)
Hinigica you are welcome to tag along with me. Send me a pm and come on down to Williston.

I have been looking for falconry groups in this state since 2007 and thus is the first time I've seen anything ...I was so excited to see there are actual falconer in the state of ND. Raptors are one of the biggest reasons I moved out here. But if anyone has a group that is practicing or hunting please send me a message...I would love to tag along...... being a woman in this state who want to learn and practice Falconry has not been easy but I am dedicated to finding a way...Thank you so much.

Did you contact the state? I believe they can give you the number of a falconer to contact. Where in ND are you located? There are a few folks around Williston (at least there were, i know some moved quasi-recently), i think there's at least one person in Bismark, and one person in the Fargo, GF area.

Hi everyone. I work in ND, live in Pennsylvania. My crazy schedule won't allow me to even think about practicing falconry, but I'd love to learn and take part in some way. I was wondering if there are any falconers in the Williston area that would be willing to take me out on a hunt sometime? I've never even been around a raptor, I've just been watching videos and reading online, but I'd love some first hand experience!

I think there is (or at least was) at least one person in that part of the state. Not sure how to reach them though, sorry! Try the state fish and game folks maybe.

They are a pretty small community up there. I know there are some folks in Williston, someone just south of Grand Forks, and someone in Fargo. I'll see if I can get a hold of an email address for the person near grand forks, I'm guessing they're closer to your area th0an fargo is.
I'm in Fargo and was wondering if you could get contact info for the Fargo falconers.

I see there isn't much activity on the North Dakota board. I've been wanting to get my falconry license for years but haven't had much luck with sponsors. Anybody have any updates as far as sponsors? I live in Fort Yates, close to the SD border. I wish there was a ND association for falconers to get this sport going and KEEP it going. Reading through the forums, the sport seems to be slowly dying off.

To my knowledge there are currently very few falconers in ND. I would try contacting the state fish and game dept. and seeing if they can put you in touch with someone.
