I am from Omaha but I am in the same boat as you bro... right now Im finishing up my army career and trying to get back to Nebraska (plenty of rabbits and squirrels) or Illinois, I havnt decided... would be nice to get in touch tho.
I live near Omaha and would be willing to grant access to some great land in my family for Falconry. There are many rolling hills in wide open country with nearly a whole section to fly over. I've taken and seen many pheasant, quail, rabits, and other small rodents in the area. All the neighbors are easy to get along with. One property is a half section with a stream down the middle and boardered by trees and natural grasses on both sides. Many red-tails and kestrels enjoy the area naturally. Probably not a good spot when crops are in. If you would be interested feel free to contact me. The offer is not open to gun hunters as that is saved for my family. Serious falconers only.
A longwinger friend of mine is in Nebraska right now hunt grouse with his two falcons. I'd LOVE to make that trip. Taking a prairie chicken with a high flying falcon has got to be a true rush!
