Hi all,
I just joined the site today, been watching it for a few days now. I've wanted to get into falconry since I was younger (I'll be 23 in July). I've only recently been looking into it more seriously. Unfortunately, the only thing holding me back from pursuing this just yet is the money aspect. As I'm still in college, all of my income seems to go towards school and bills with not much extra. Ideally I'd like to have enough saved up (before I even get my first bird) so that even after all the costs I would have enough to fall back on in case anything were to happen to the bird, enough to cover vet expenses and such. I'm not one to jump into things lightly, so I'd like to make sure I'm completely prepared! (Well... as prepared as one can be anyways I guess....) ;D
Anyways, sorry to ramble. Just wanted to let you all know I'm here. Please forgive me if I don't post much, I like to soak up as much info as possible.
Best to do alot of research just like your saying before jumping into this sport. Nothin wrong with ramblin, we all do that and thats mostly what you'll be reading.
If you have any specific questions dont hesistate to ask me.
Welcome to the forum. Missouri has a good club and the dues are only $10.00 per year. They have an eyess picnic in August and several meets during the season. It's a good way to meet the falconers in the area. Many will invite you along on hunts so you can experience what it's all about. Kurt
WASUUUUUUUUP!!!!!!!! didn't know there would be this many falconers in MO, let alone even one from St. Louis. where you guys findin out about all the meets and stuff, i never heard or read a single thing about meets in St. Louis.
