I'm from pa, and need to know if there is any website that shows regulations, other falconers, things like that until I get my hands on one of the packets they were supposed to have sent me weeks ago.
My name is Joe Morales, I live in Lancaster PA. Are you familiar with this area of PA? If so maybe you can help. For the last 2 ½ months I have committed my self to falconry research although the last two years were trying to buy a home etc. so I could house a bird of prey; but now I feel its time to search for others in my area with the same passion. Are you located in PA? If yes/or no, do you have any contacts in PA who are falconers? I saw PA was in the heading of this e-mail so I thought I would give it a stab. Thanks Joe.
P.S. I sent out for packets too, haven’t gotten it yet. Let me know what it contains I would be interested in knowing.
I'm very interested in falconry, I have been reading as much literature as I can and learning as much as I can. I live in York County, and was just wondering who else is in the area (PA). It would be nice to get in contact with a falconer to talk to, and find out how to watch a hunt. Thanks!
hey i'm in the Reading area(berks county), i'm still a newb and don't have a bird yet, but if you contact Sheri, she will get you in contact up a falconer around you.
Hey my name is Mark i'm in Erie county i am currently to young to start an aprenticeship (14) but i would still like to meet other falconers in my area
I ended up taking my exam in the Reading office (the south-east region office).
MAKE SURE YOU SEND YOUR APPLICATION TO YOUR REGIONAL OFFICE I almost didn't get to take the test because I sent it to Harrisburg.
There were 150 multiple choice and matching questions.
Almost all of it was covered within the CHC study guide. If you know the material from there and you know the state regs you should be fine. Just make sure you study the state regs and not the California regs section. The test was updated recently so you won't find any bizzaro stuff.
It was actually a lot easier than the online practice tests, so if you're to the point where you are doing alright on those and have the CHC info committed to memory, you are well prepared for the exam.
Edit 5/30: I just got my score over the phone: 97!!! So online tests + chc guide + state regs= pass in PA.
