I am planning on engaging in falconry, and I live in Southeast Missouri. Ever heard of Jackson, MO? That's where I live (close to cape girardeau...)

Fort Knox, KY I've been gathering as much information online as I can, but I've come to the realization that practical application and hands on experience would be far more valuable than any amount of research I could do online, (not that I'm going to stop looking online). So I'm interested in finding local falconers to learn from, hopefully to observe in the field later in the year when hunting season starts...

i am a Apprentice falconer in Logansport,IN. i have some books and i love animals. when i worked at medieval times in IL i worked with the birds and got hooked. i worked with laner one there. i loved the way the falcons looked and how they fly. it just wows me. any ways i am looking for a sponser or a mentor that can train me and help me learn. i have a car and am looking for some one in a 2hr area. i have studied every falconry book i can get my hands on. i have some equipment already(glove, jesses, leash, etc). any help i can get is welcome.
yes i am a apprentice or i guess it would be pre apprentice. i dont know the diffrence.
An apprentice has a falconry permit and a sponsor. A PRE-apprentice doesn't. So, going by your earlier post (looking for a sponsor), you're a pre-apprentice. Change your profile, Vivi.
I live in southern Indiana and am interested in falconry although I haven't done any research on the sport. I am looking for opportunities to watch falconers hunt with their birds, either individually or during an event. Any information about such opportunities would be most appreciated.
