Dam I should have looked here sooner. I'm Chris and I'm from BC as most here know. It's nice to have someone from Ontario to harrass. I didn't know you guys had an apprenticeship system here in BC we don't have one as yet though it might be a good idea. I think some here once posted what the apprentice birds where. Bob seems to think that we Canadians have kow rules here for falconry just do as we may. HA I wish. Anyway best of luck CHris British Columbia

Hello from Newfoundland, Canada! On the list for the 5 day international falconry course at Falconry Center in Ontario. About to be the first licensed falconer in Newfoundland (I hope). Hoping to get a gyr soon. Spent many days hunting with wild gyrs and peregrines in the arctic of Labrador. My dog would flush the ptarmigan for the wild falcons....fond memories.

Hello from Edmonton, AB. I'm just starting the research phase of pre-apprentice and I can't wait for the day that get my first bird. I'm a wildlife biologist and I've handled wild goshawks, burrowing and great horned owls, but never done any falconry.
We have the Alberta Falconry Association here and everything is regulated through Alberta Fish and Wildlife. I think there's about 30 or so registered falconers in the province. Can't wait to start shopping for a sponser. Anyone else from Alberta out there?
